Booking open/close dates
Events have an opening date and a closing dates used to control when attendees can make their bookings, for example between 3pm Monday and 5pm Friday.
These correspond to these event states:
- Ready to start: attendees cannot use the event code yet.
- Open: attendees can use the event code and make their bookings.
- Closed: attendees can no longer use the event code.
Attendees who try and use an event code before the event opens or after the event has closed will be prevented from accessing the event website.
An attendee who has already signed up will not be able to make any new bookings after the event has closed, but can still cancel any existing bookings.
The booking opening and closing dates only apply to attendees. Staff can make bookings before an event is open or after an event is closed, and can make any changes for attendees if needed.
Why does this matter?
These two dates allow you to prepare for your event without worrying about last-minute changes, such as being able to email timetables out to staff before the event starts.
Extending the booking time
If you need to change the booking opening or closing date or time, you can edit the event at any time and change these to suit.
