Booking open/close dates

Events have an opening date and a closing dates used to control when attendees can make their bookings, for example between 3pm Monday and 5pm Friday.

Attendees who try and use an event code before the event opens or after the event has closed will be prevented from accessing the event website.

An attendee who has already signed up will not be able to make any new bookings after the event has closed, but can still cancel any existing bookings.

Only applies to attendees

The booking open and close dates only apply to attendees. Staff can make bookings before an event is open or after an event is closed, and can make any changes for attendees if needed.

Why does this matter?

These two dates allow you to prepare for your event without worrying about last-minute changes, such as being able to email timetables out to staff before the event starts.

You also change these dates at any time, in case you find that people need more time to sign up and make their bookings.
